JUNIOR LEAGUE (PENNANTS) - SUMMER 2025/26
NEDLANDS TENNIS CLUB
NOMINATIONS CLOSE AT 6PM ON WEDNESDAY 3RD SEPTEMBER 2025
Please ensure you have read the Tennis West 2025 Summer League Information document for full details of the season.
Prior to nominating please read the following points:
All players wishing to play Tennis League (Pennants) must be financial members of Nedlands Tennis Club. Membership information can be found online at nedlandstennisclub.com.au/membership or by contacting the club manager via email at nedlandstennis@bigpond.com. Payment of membership fees must be made to NTC and not to TennisHQ. Membership allows for access to available courts at any time, eligibility to play League, and free attendance (excl food) to Junior Club in Term 4 and Term 1.
If selected, League representation for the Club implies a commitment to play most weeks. Whilst every effort will be made to accommodate all nominations, player numbers and standards may provide limitations. If we are unable to find your child a suitable team, we will contact you and assist with potentially finding a placement for them at another local club.
When enrolling please include who your child would like to play with if s/he has any preference. We appreciate that most players would like to play with friends, and so we will try our best to make this happen!
The league fee of $140.00 is payable to TennisHQ (BSB: 036067. Acct: 737968, reference CHILD’S INITIAL & SURNAME-JLS25). Please make payment upon nomination.
The league fee includes your ball fees for the entire season, administrative costs, match supervisor fees and Tennis West league fees. This does not include Nedlands Tennis Club membership, which is a separate fee payable directly to Nedlands Tennis Club.
Age limits for juniors are as at 19th October 2025. Players must be at the age or younger prior to the commencement of the season.
Teams/players are encouraged to come to the courts in their own time to practice. All players are welcome to join a squad if they would like additional coaching.
In order to play Junior League in summer, your child MUST have a Tennis Australia Competitive Player Profile by 1st October 2025
This involves (1) creating an account in Match Centre (matchcentre.tennis.com.au) to get a Tennis ID and (2) linking it to a Universal Tennis account to get a Universal Tennis Rating (UTR).
If you are not sure whether you have a Tennis ID or UTR or if you need to create one, please go to www.tennis.com.au/competitiveplay/create-your-cpp for instructions on how to check/how to complete your Competitive Player Profile. (Contact Tennis Services via play@tennis.com.au or call 1800 752 983 for further assistance.)
NEW TENNIS WEST RULES FOR JUNIOR LEAGUE
All clubs are now required to provide two match day assistants to help regulate the behaviour of players and parents at the venue. To support this, parents are asked to complete a free course, which includes both online and in-person sessions.
If you have multiple children playing in the league, we request that either you or your spouse complete this qualification. If we have 20 parents complete this course each parent would only need to perform the role once for the season.
Please note, managers are not expected to take on this additional responsibility. On the nomination form, you will find an option to register as either a manager OR an assistant.
For those parents who are unsure if their child is ready to play League, and perhaps have questions about League, please contact Warren Vickers, NTC Junior League Co-ordinator and Head Coach, at TennisHQ.
